My road to the Sundown

I did something I never expected to do this evening .. I pinned on a bib for the Sundown!! You bet I'm excited, and a little apprehensive.

My road to the Sundown actually started this morning whilst I was lying in bed. In spore, we alternate our weekend morning runs and she was out for a 12k. I wrote to DK and CCY to wish them luck on their races tomorrow; DK didn't bother to reply but CCY quickly wrote back. He's feeling a little under the weather and did not want to risk the run. Mumbled something about we being at that age where the old ticker could just seize up etc etc. I quickly asked if he wanted his bib released to me. Yes, but he wanted the tee shirt. Oh well..

My plan was to do the half at the end of the year and my training plan was tailored to that. I wasn't prepared to do the Pacesetters NB 15K quite so early notwithstanding I've been doing the occassional long run at that distance. And now I will be attempting the half, half a year early. I'm a little apprehensive and am prepared for walk breaks. CCY reassured me that I would be fine, when he asked how was my training so far. I'm excited too, because the Malaysian runners would be there, whom I feel i am a part of that community. So much so I will be wearing my Mizuno Wave run tee from last year tomorrow night - it looks like the spore one but on a careful look, the decals will show Malaysian origins (..the race at UPM at Serdang), and hopefully pegging me as bring one from the community across the causeway.

I've just picked up the bib from CCY. I've changed the emergency info at the back and the bib has gone onto my tee. I'll be in the baby Sundown.
