I thought of an Off season..

I didn't know what to do today. Couldn't choose between a hard effort and an easy cruise so I did whatever I felt like. Truth be told, the route around my current home in the East Coast are boring routes. There are no elevation changes, and no other runners on the roads. ECP also gets a little quiet and those that are out there now are seriously in shape for the upcoming SCSM, all doing LSDs, buried in their own thoughts and suffering.

Somewhere around the 5k mark, I thought of taking a period off, an off-season. Nisa and I have been running all year through, with races populated throughout the year, with no discernible lull.

But the thought went away as soon as it came. I became careful with my form, my pace became smoother and the joy of running returned quickly. The number of races we participated in was just about right, and I think this will be the same in 2010. Even the thought of having to line up within the BHPetrol station next year to collect our bibs for the Orange Run suddenly sounded enticing.
