The car needs to undergo the statutory inspection. Yup, only in Singapore will a law be passed to require your car to be inspected before its annual licence can be renewed. The inspection is planned for this weekend and hence I am not traveling home to KL. On a whim, I messaged DK to asked if he wanted to run this morning and he suggested MacRitchie 10k. I was excited and kept thinking about it all night, more so because its a homecoming of sorts. MacRitchie is a part of my life that I really want to return to - the peace, the strive, the effort and the commitment.
So imagine my disappointment when we decided against MacRitchie when we met for the run this morning. Instead, we did 10k+ at blase old ECP; basically going up to Changi and back. It wasn't that bad a run because the pace was consistent, picking up at the end - yup, this is Kenyan-ism. The high point this morning? I broke my 30k weekly mileage and manage to hit 35.
Still we made plans, post run, to do MacRitchie tomorrow with DK's regular group and yes, there is hope.
All of this is trivial compared with Dr R. He became a father last night!!! I only have to look at Jamie's photos when he was born to re-live the excitement, which I am sure he is experiencing.
